Getting Started with abc English
The abc English resources can be combined in a variety of ways to meet the needs of different programs, teachers, and students. Choose one of the options below for a Sample Lesson Outline and teaching ideas: 

  • Emergent Readers are adult or adolescent English learners that need instruction in both Low-Beginning literacy skills and Low-Beginning language skills.   • Literate Students are adult or adolescent English learners who know how to read in their home language. They have usually experienced formal education in their home language for six years or more. Here's a Sample Lesson Outline for Literate Students.
 
  • US Citizenship Students are adult English learners who are preparing to pass the US Naturalization Test. Here's a Sample Lesson Outline for US Citizenship Students.
