Do I need a License to use the Online Library?
Anyone can try out the Online Library resources with a Free 30-Day Trial. This gives you a chance to explore all of the resources and decide if they will be a good fit for you and your students. If you decide to continue using the resources, you'll need to sign up for an Individual License or Group License to access the resources. License fees support site maintenance and the creation of new materials.

Do you have any free materials?
Yes! Anyone can sign up for a
Free 30-Day Trial to try out all of the Online Library resources. In addition, there are free sample resources on the main page of the Online Library that can be accessed without a license. All of the Teacher Training,  Home Language Literacy, and Assessment resources will always be free. You can also use the free full previews available at the Books page as a teaching resource.

You also create books. Tell me more.
Never underestimate the power of a "real book," especially with adult emergent readers. See the book collection here. You don't need an Online Library license to view or purchase books.

What are the copyright expectations for your materials?
Thank you for using the Online Library materials honestly. An Individual License authorizes one teacher to use the Online Library resources with their own students. A Group License authorizes teachers registered within the Group to use the Online Library resources with their own students. Teachers with an active license may display digital resources on a classroom screen or screenshare digital resources during an online lesson. Teachers with an active license may print packets or flashcards for their own students as many times as they wish. For example, a teacher may display a teaching slideshow during a classroom lesson, and print a related packet for each student to keep. These are copyrighted resources. Do not share resource links with other teachers or post resource links online where they could be accessed publicly.
You may not create your own resources using the word lists, stories, or photos in these resources. Learn more about Intellectual Property Rights and read the full License Agreement here.

A Group License discount is available for any group of five or more teachers for nine or more months. The Group License gives all members of the group access to the abc English Online Library materials. A Group License is designed to be flexible, and an organization can add or remove teachers from their group as needed. For more information, see these answers to FAQs about a Group License.
